Praise Your Dog. Constantly by Craig Williams

PRAISE

When you start training your dog in any circumstances you need to work out a basic plan of what you are going to do and work out which commands you will use for your procedures.

For example: If you are teaching your dog to sit, then obviously your command will be Sit. But some people may say to their dog sit-down. If this works for you and you don't do a lot of training... good. But it is better to stick to one word commands. If you used the command sit-down what would you use for you dog to drop?

You would only be limited to the command drop; it would confuse your dog if you used the command 'Lie Down'. I hope you see my point; another example would be if you used the command 'Drop' for the dog to lie down what command would you use to get the dog to drop the ball...? You would be restricted to use the command 'Give' or 'Out'.
